The recruiting process is a beast, my suggestion is always to reach out directly to the schools he is interested in. Once you're on the radar it's easier for the schools to take notice. Putting his info on a recruiting platform and hoping someone see's it is usually wasted effort and money. Sometimes those sites can produce interest but it's almost always from D2, D3, and MCLA/NAIA schools, not D1 level. The schools all typically host camps and training sessions, I always suggest attending the camp where he wants to get a look, D1/2/3 schools host those camps as fundraisers most of the time, so it's important to know who is going to actually be at the camp to do the coaching.
The main questions I ask everyone are... #1- What kind of school do you think you want? Big, Small, Local, Out of State? #2- What do you want to Major in? Does that school offer that? #3- What kind of playing experience do you want? To be on the team? To be on the Field? To be a difference maker for the team?
Once we know those three things, that tends to help narrow down the search considerably
"Club Lacrosse" The MCLA doesn't think of itself as less than the NCAA, they consider themselves equal but different. MCLA- Is all the schools that don't field an NCAA program at the college, think of it as the best competition and everything outside of NCAA competition. MCLA.US
Local Teams http://mcla.us/conference/slc Teams like Concordia, which is where I played are thriving with local talent as the game gets better here and kids don't want to go "too far" from home they have become a national powerhouse along with Chapman, Grand Canyon, and a few others. I'm happy to go with you guys down there or anywhere locally to see a game and/or meet with coaches, etc.
College Club League http://ncllax.com/ This is any program that wants to field at team that has an NCAA program at the school, a lot of the NCAA teams have good relationships with their "clubs" and kids that don't redshirt or want to play on the NCAA team still can play competitive. These however are also often programs that are less organized, and therefore may not be welcomed in the MCLA which has some very strict administrative expectations which keep the competition at a high level.
